Did the US Military Really Make Soldiers Become Mental During the Vietnam War?
Question by Frank: Did the US military really make soldiers become mental during the Vietnam war?
*Some graphic description*
I see a lot of homeless veterans that seem really mentally sick and my uncle is one of them. He once told me that the army gave him a bunch of drugs to make him more aggressive. Everyone in his platoon died in combat except for him. So apparently as he started to become mentally sick the soldiers would beat him and make him roll around in their spit. They would force him to drink water while they punched his stomach, and all sorts of other stuff.. He said that his ‘fellow’ soldiers would have fun finding new ways to abuse him. He ended up going to a mental hospital and he ended up escaping and almost went to jail…
Nowadays he is in a mental hospital for good..
My grandmother even has told me that my uncle was a perfectly fine man before going to war. I am looking to learn more about this kind of stuff.
Do these stories sound made up? Are there any legit reports of the military doing these kinds of experiments with drugs on the soldiers? I’m just curious if any vets out their have witnessed this kind of stuff…I guess this stuff stopped going on because of media?
Just a curious person trying to understand my uncles history. I am always interested in this kind of information. Thank you for your answers!
He was in battle in Korea also btw. I can’t really understand the whole soldiers beating soldiers thing for fun….
I’m not trolling and I have no hidden agenda…i’m only 18 and my interest is genuine.

Yes the u.s military wanted to create “super soldiers” they used a drug called pcp a highly dangerous drug causes hallucinations its makes you aggressive and much stronger soldiers were reported mentally ill after taking the drug so many times and some of them dies basically from overdose but I’m not sure if.this was in the war your talking about or ww2

The military is one sick institution that tried a whole bunch of different stuff on their lab rats(soldiers)
everything from exposing them to agent orange to that BZ-13 stuff (that made them more aggressive)
Watch the movie Jacob’s Ladder:
I’ve noticed many vets don’t like talking about their experiences.
Too much to re-live.
.
Well,..I guess I stand corrected & these vets knew every single soldier in that war,..
AND think/know our government is filled with a bunch of saints who would NEVER dream of experimenting on their “precious” soldiers.
“our government cares, dammit!”
