Question by Desiree: My friend is under 18 and wants me to take her to the gynecologist?
She’s been having sexual intercourse with her boyfriend and had a miscarriage a few months ago. I told her it would be a good idea to see a gynecologist since she is sexually active and she said she could never confront her parents about it. Her parents don’t know she’s having sex. I offered to take her but she would need to provide her insurance information and I’m worried her parents would find out eventually. We live in Ohio. Is there any law preventing me from taking her without her parents knowing?

You might want to take her to Planned Parenthood. They offer free or cheap services and she wouldn’t necessarily have to use her insurance. I don’t think there would be any problem with you taking her since you would simply be accompanying her.

at my gyno in az your parents dont have to know about ANYTHING
you just have to tell them(ur gyno) that you dont want your parents knowing
&if they still want to tell your parents then just go to Planned Parenthood, they will keep all of your personal information to themselves
