Question by Bad Mood: What are some opionions on drug treatment centers instead of jail.?
Does anyone feel that a person that commits money crimes such as check forgery to support their drug addiction be given a chance to go to a treatment center before being sentenced to prison?

If the person repaid all the damages he had done first, then I would have no objection to him going to a rehab center as long as jail time was hanging over his head.

No. Drug treatment centers are for people who really want help, not for criminals looking to get out of serving time. What’s the old saying? Can’t do the time, don’t do the crime.
